What problems do you have with it?

Thats strange probably the registry causes this problem, did you run the file as admin? When i tested it the registry imported ok, but i have to install clean server on my virtual machine to check this out.
Also, do not overwrite the existing files on the server machine as i mentioned in the instructions.

    Thats great! 🙂
I can get the games explorer working by just registering gameux.dll and typing Games in windows explorer, but as you mentioned the games cannot be started, probably due to missing registry entries.I think the best way to resolve this is to monitor the games explorer on vista and server 2008 using process monitor and see whats wrong.

    Ok guys, its ready! 🙂
The speech recognition is not 100% automated because i cant include 200mb of windows system files with my program, but its close as possible.
I tested everything again and with the users feedback i think its enough to call this final version.
With version 2.0 i will start working on how to modify the installation files directly with the patcher.

The new version will include only speech recognition and few other changes. Its basically ready, but i have to test it first.Im very busy these days, but it will be out at the end of the week.
After that im going to work on the next version, which probably will support the installation files.

Try miranda – it work flawlessly for me. Im not sure whats causing the problem, but maybe its not the OS – do you use firewall or some kind of hardware router?

Check out this page it has some info..
Try to disable the IE enhanced security configuration(ESC) and register the dll’s.

The answer is simple – you cant 🙂 Ok, maybe you can, but we haven’t found way to do it yet – i searched alot in the registry, imageres.dll and other files but still nothing..There must be some settings in the core for each OS type – for example the logon background is still in imageres.dll, but its not even used from there. If you use the vista crack, the server manager and other server-related functions doesnt work, so your OS is still Server 2008, but its recognized as workstation type and the logon background looks just like vista.

Wud be interesting where the option “shared system memory” is set by windows. I have 256 MB physical on my card. Windows shows 256 MB dedicated + 512 MB shared System. System memory shows 0. As i’am using a AGP card i set 256 MB AGP-ApertureSize in Bios. I recognized that it is not possible to fill the whole DDRAM with Data. 256 MB r complety holden free by the system, regardless how hard i punished the system. Maybe there is a way to play around with the shared system memory to gain some extra performance in games or applications or just to avoid that the system locks usefull memory.

    EDIT: Found this: GraphicsMemory.doc

Windows calculates automatically the shared system memory, but uses it only if needed and i dont think you can change the value manually.

    Thank you for you input…

What should I do ?? go for a re-installation ?? as I cant find any solution to solve this performance issue…

    🙁 🙁

    Did you checked in dxdiag?

in reply to: Microsoft Works 9 #46709

You can use MSI editor if the installation uses msi package, or you can try to trick the installer using the M$ application Application Verifier

in reply to: Display acceleration problem #46735

I have ATi 2900 PRO and the system video memory is reported as 0MB, but i dont have any problems at all nor in windows or games. The hardware acceleration is enabled by default in server 2008, thats why there is no such option. You can check in dxdiag and see if the hardware acceleration is working.
