Beside my AntiVirus Eset Nod32 AntiVirus v3 Business Edition I don’t use any special anti-spyware tool, but if I do, I prefer Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE. After installing disable that (those?) lavasoft service(s) that, (of course) automatically starts up with Windows, in the Services Manager (Start -> Run -> services.msc). Scanning once a week should be enough. You don’t need full time spyware protection if you also use an antivirus product.
C:Documents and Settings is a hidden folder. As you see in the following commandprompt, it is a junction to C:Users to stay backwards compatible. Just disable the view of hidden files and folders (Tools -> Folder Options -> View in Windows Explorer), and it won’t bother you again! 😉

C:UsersAdministrator>This is a fragment from a mail I sent to someone who also didn’t have any gadgets in his list and also an empty sidebar:
Download and start the tool Process Monitor, first disable the monitor by clicking the magnifier in the toolbar, then erase your logwindow. Make sure SideBar.exe is shut down and that you can open it quickly via a quick lauch click or something. Now click the magnifier again so the logging will start. Now start your sidebar and wait till it has fully started up. Switch to the Process Monitor window and click the magnifier to stop monitoring.
In the menu filter click filter CTRL+L and add the following line:
Process Name | is | sidebar.exe | include
Next click OK to apply the filter. In the main window you have a column Result. Try to lookup if somewhere trying to read a file, the file is missing; checking a key in the registry, the regkey is missing etc. Simply all entries without the resultcode SUCCESS.If you have enough technical experience or want to learn something you should check this out!
I downloaded and installed Windows Vista Ultimate x86 SP1 German (Deutsch) into Hyper-V and packed the Windows Sidebar folder from C:Program Files into a zip and uploaded it to RapidShare.
Hope that solves your problem!
Try the Windows Vista 64bit driver from the Creative Support Page and use the Enable Sound Acceleration tutorial to enable sound in win2k8 server.
That should do it! 😉
Nice! But don’t overwork yourself eh! It looks like you are a busy guy! 🙂
Have you tried the manual Installing MySQL Server on Windows Server 2008 from http://learn.iis.net? (it’s the first result on google if I search for “mysql server 2008”)
Hope that helps!
The folder Nero doesn’t even exist in my Nero 8 installation on my win2008 x64. I must say I did an advanced install of Nero 8 and only installed “Nero Burning Rom”, none of all the tools/stuff/bloat that comes with Nero 8.
Sounds like an ownership problem. Did you try to take over the permissions of the file?
1. rightclick the file -> Properties
2. Tab Security -> Advanced
3. Tab Owner -> click Edit
4. from the list choose Administrators and click OK
5. Close all settings windows and try again!Good luck! 🙂
Hello,
Are you sure you have chosen the sidebar for the right architecture? If you use the x64 (64bit) version of Windows Server 2008, make sure you downloaded and unpacked the 64bit version of the sidebar to C:Program Files. You can use the x86 (32bit) version of the sidebar in a 64bit version of Windows too, but then you have to install the 32bit sidebar into the folder C:Program Files (x86).
Hope this helps! 😉
Some days ago I updated WordPress to version 2.5. :geek:
Thats right! 🙂
I installed the MOD Full Syndication Suite 1.0.RC1 (RSS/ATOM) from http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=544331
Thanks in advance for your help! 😉
