VMR9 Video Render, is this maybe why I get no screen (picture) of the channels?
It’s good to now that my system (w2k8 R2) has no audio device and a very simple video card on his onboard. My systemboard is ‘Asus DSBV-DX’ and my Video card is ‘XGI Volari Z7’ with 32MB of Video memory. I use my on Systemboard Video Card. I Hope this no problem. Is a Audio card necessary to watch Live TV with sound on my NMT in the livingroom?

Video renderer has got nothing to do with audio (I think).
    Did you install Desktop experince?
Did you install a codec pack?

Just for your info, Hauppauge WinTV app has some incompatiblity problems on server, even on server 2008, many people had problems. My advice is to install an alternative tv app. Best one is dvbviewer (paid) and the best free version of tv app is dvbdream.

EDIT: Am not too sure about that particular video card.

EDIT 2: Sorry i missed few of your posts from first page. Thanks for all the info you provided. I will try get the analog to work asap.

Ok, try this “reg” file, and also what is the name of your tv card?

Did you install my “BDA R2.msi” as well?

    Am still looking into analogue…

in reply to: TV Card (BDA Hardware Support) #49658

Copy and paste this to notepad, and then save it with the extension “reg”. Then merge it to your R2 registry.

Let me know if that got your analog to work.

Can someone help my to get the analog TV Card (Hauppauge pvr-500) running on my Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have clearly stated that there is NO SUPPORT for Analogue (yet). I will be adding Analogue support soon.

I dont have a Analogue tv card, so i will need you/forum people to do some testing for me to get it to work.

    Cheers

I got MPG thumbnails working after installing ffdshow rev2832_20090328.

    Thanks for the info mate.

    EDIT:
Just installed that ffdshow revision, but no MPG thumbs, messed about with the ffdshow video settings as well, still no luck.

AsciiWolf, would you mind sharing your ffdshow settings with me?
You can do that via ffdshow and export all settings.

    Thanks

    Uploaded. Enjoy guys 🙂

ok, thanks for correcting me 😳
But i want and hope microsoft gets rid off all those 32bit stuffs for windows 8, that means no legacy apps, but only x64 software.

Microsoft should also drop those “program files (x86)” crap as well. Although this means no x86 apps can be installed, but atleast developers will start coding native x64 softwares.

if you do regsvr32 /s kstvtune.ax then you won’t see it
but remove the silence that show the error

all my other files register ok but there 2

I have WinTV HVR-950 windows detect and i have driver install for it.
but the program don’t see any decoder, Dscaler see the card too but it give me and error also.

    Thank for the help

These files does not have any reg.entries, so it will not register. (by default these files you mentioned above, does not have reg.entries)
So this is not a problem

Double checked, and copied the files to the right locations, and ran the registration part again …..
Still my Terratec Cinergy HTC USB XS HD won’t work.
I have tried two tv software packages, the one that comes along with Terratec – Terratec Home Cinema, and GB-PVR.
GB-PVR craches when I try to start scanning for channels, and in Home Cinema nothing happens when I press scan.
Looks like som .dll is still missing ….

    Any advice ?

Come to my page on msfn, here you will have updated setup pack for bda on server
    http://www.msfn.org/board/BDA-Tv-tuner-support-on-Server-2008-t114549.html
