I can’t get them to work! There is also a service that has to run! Check that! WinKey + R -> services.msc
Well, I re-did my desktop a little bit. Now with some Win7 theme!

I hope it’ll be finished tomorrow! I’ll post some screen shots and the like once I have it up and running!
Yeah, you can just download it and “evaluate” it for up 180 days. So try it out. 😆

Are you running server on old hardware there? It boots up in about 35 seconds for me?
About R2 – do we get that as a downloadable update or do we have to download and upgrade?
No, a R2 releases are like a new OS, you will have to buy it to use it (or use it for 180 days without activating it…)!
R2 will replace “R1” immediately when it comes out. In contrast to 2003 R2 this will be a major upgrade (new kernel etc.).14th January 2009 at 15:17 in reply to: Building a new super notebook, Win2008 WS still worth it? #47874The kernels always have had the same code base. But in Vista you have all the crap like DRM tied to the kernel, which really slows it down!
WS 2008 is definitely worth it. It takes a while to set up, but then it’s quite faster.BTW if you want a little bit of Windows 7 look and feel look at these two programs:
-the Aero Peek feature: http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21667
-the Aero Snap feature (love this one): http://www.aerosnap.de/index_eng.htm
-and finally the Areo Shake feature: http://lifehacker.com/5082279/aero-shake-clears-your-pre+windows-7-desktopI have uploaded the pic to ImageShack
