    Question: Since I have Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Standard Edition installed and since I’m planning to run Windows 7 Pro x64 on a Virtual Machine, can I copy the WinSAT.exe, emdmgmt.dll, PerfCenterCPL.dll, winsatapi.dll; the contents in the En-US folder/directory: PerfCenterCPL.dll.mui, emdmgmt.dll.mui, WinSAT.exe.mui, and winsatapi.dll.mui from the Windows 7 Pro x64 virtual machine’s C:WindowsSystem32 directory to my server’s C:WindowsSystem32 directory?

I really want to get the experience index on my computer. But before I use the program, do I input the command in Command Prompt: regsvr32 perfcentercpl.dll to register the dll file as a useable option in both Control Panel and Computer Properties?

There’s another workaround to get the games installed easily, but you need the xinput9_1_0.dll file after you do this workaround: first download the attached file I uploaded on Mediafire (includes the xinput9_1_0.dll file and installation), Unzip/extract the file I uploaded to your Desktop, open the program called R2ConvGUI.exe (yes, this works with the 64-bit version as well), go to the Packs tab, tick the following boxes: Games Explorer and Windows 7 Games, click on Apply Selected Items. An error might occur (1 to 2 chance), but click OK, and click Reboot after the installation, just in case, or reboot later on. Then, go to the xinput directory/folder, double-click on install.bat (opens in Windows PowerShell) and hit any key to install the xinput9_1_0.dll file (works for both x86 and x64 versions of Windows Server 2008 R2) and hit any key to exit. After that, restart your server/machine for better results.

We finally got Windows Media Center install on Windows Server 2008 but a last minute show-stopper bug emerge due to software restriction policy. If you would like to help complete the product you can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?yje11mmbhen

    1. run MCE from Vista.bat on Vista
    2. copy C:MCE from vista to C:MCE in server 2008
    3. run MCE to Server 2008.bat (or you can copy all files in C:MCE to C:)
    4. run Media Center – Add.reg

If you run Windows Media Center you will get this error: Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. For more information contact your system administrator.

If somebody find a solution, let me know.

There’s a text file in the folder called “Adjust Permissions for import”. Open up the text file, go to File > Save As, and under the save as type: select All Files (*.*) and type in the extension .reg into the file name. The following file name should be written as “Adjust Permissions for import.reg” and click Save. Then, double-click on the registry file and do the changes. It might work, but I’m not sure.
