I should work on the Slc.dll for Chess Titans. Uses the same call, but doesn’t respond to returning “1” ! It’s only import from Slc.dll is SLGetWindowsInformationDWORD, same as the other games, but no cigar. Any ideas?

    Yeah, it sucks.
BTW, did you read about me getting the Win7 games to work in Windows Server 08 R2?

According to my disassembly in IDA, it checks the tokens.dat file.
Creating a custom tokens.dat file will be a PITA and will be highly illegal.
My idea is to NOP the checks and return “LOL YES” every time.

EDIT: It also checks SLGetWindowsInformation (note the lack of DWORD there).
We need to also pass info to that using the custom SLC.dll, but I’m clueless there.

We already have a better event log, it’s in the Server Manager.
MS is making duplicates of features.

Yay! I was able to do it, quasi-legally, of course.
    HOWTO:
    1. Get game files from Windows 7 and put into “Microsoft Games” folder.
    2. Get cardgames.dll from System32/SysWoW64 from Win7.
    3. http://msftguy.blogspot.com/2008/07/snipping-tool-on-server-2008-no-love.html
(do it to the game EXE’s)
    4. ???
    5. Profit!

    PROOF:

FYI, Chess Titans doesn’t work yet.
I hope that we can mod the cracked SLC.dll above with
http://www.withinwindows.com/2008/10/03/short-slgetwindowsinformationdword-value-names/ as a universal feature enabler.

    Cheers!

    Pfft. Adding games is easy.
Use the Game Explorer Manager (GEM) instead of VGEE.

    Lolwut?
CS4 MC installed flawlessly on my system.
The popup was only a recommendation and not a requirement.

    Program Name: avast! Home
    Website: avast.com
    Compatible?: Yes
Issues: Checks for NT SKU during setup. Confuses server with NT 4 Server
    Fix: Same as in R1
