Well, I uploaded a new version of my installer…
It now includes a fix for this issue and also small bugfixes like two new registry entries.
P.S. Arris, please update links on your web with this version, thanks. 😉

How do I enable any aero theme. When I go to personize, it won’t let me select the Windows 7 theme. I can only use classic, Any ideas?

    Did you start “Themes” service?

Hello, I found out that my installer of Games Explorer has a small bug…
It creates a GameUX reg folder (with name set from your profile ID) in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionGameUX but it doesn’t set correct permissions for it.
So you can’t add games to Games Explorer manually.
The solution for this issue is simple – add full (Read/Write) permissions for your user to your (your ID) folder.

Yep, DVD codecs seems to be missing in Server 2008 R2.
    DVD doesn’t work in WMP too… 🙁

Also, is it OK to just install it over a previous version?

    Link
And yep, you can install it over a previous version (I tried it in VM and had no problem with it).

    Well, I fixed it!
So download a new version of Games Explorer and enjoy playing Tinker! 😉

Well, I uploaded the new version of Games Explorer installer which contains a lot of small bugfixes, a lot of new registry entries (looks like all needed Games Explorer registry entries are now successfully ported) and one big bugfix – basic Windows Parental Controls support (Wpc.dll and Class reg entries for it), so you can now play games like Bioshock or Tinker without any problems…
    Enjoy! 😉

in reply to: Tinker (From GFW Live) #50254

I tried to import ParentalControlClass reg records from Windows 7 in Windows 2008 R2, but games which need it (e.g. Bioshock) still didn’t work (same error)… 🙁

BTW, did you read about me getting the Win7 games to work in Windows Server 08 R2?

    Ye, good work! 😉
Well, I’m working on a new version of Games Explorer installer which contains a lot of new registry entries (which are missing in current installer). Stay Tuned!

in reply to: Games Explorer #48630

Nice, but you still must do this manually. 🙁
On Windows 7, Installer of any “Games for Windows” compatible game will create Games Explorer records automatically…
