Long story short.

It doesn’t work on Server 2008 x86. Tried Compatibility Mode, the DirectCore Music Services DLL, installing DirectX8 off the disk.

Here’s the clincher

It works on Server 2008 R2 x64

Unfortunately for you I am not JonusC :P, but what problem do you encounter when trying to start Zoo Tycoon? An error, absolutely nothing, …? Have you installed the latest version of AsciiWolfs’ [localurl=viewtopic.php?f=25&t=927:24f964hj]Game Explorer[/localurl:24f964hj] which now also includes Parental Controls which is needed to play some games?

If it’s still not working, try to find out what files/registry keys might be missing using Sysinternals Process Monitor by filtering on Process Name | is | zootycoon.exe | then | include (or however the executable is named). For more information about the Process Monitor, search this forum.

Hope this gives you any clues to what the problem might be.
