I found the following Vista drivers for this device. They should also work on Windows Server 2008.

        GIGABYTE Intel(R) Chipset , Vista , ver 8.2.0.1014
        http://europe.giga-byte.com/FileList/Driver/nb_driver_w466_w566_chipset_vista_8.2.0.1014.rar

Gigabyte Intel(r) Chipset Software Installation Utility 8.3.0.1013
        http://asia.giga-byte.com/FileList/Driver/motherboard_driver_chipset_intel_inf_9xx.exe

Intel Chipset INF Update Utility Ver: 8.3.1.1009
        http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=2261&DwnldID=14528&strOSs=44&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Professional&lang=eng

Try to install these drivers manually via the Device Manager by unpacking the installation files with WinRAR or any other extraction tool if the automatic installation doesn’t work.

I gave you the link to intel, did you look there, maybe it was hard to find for you, so here is the direct link for your 945 chipset, select either vista x86 or vista x64 depending on what version of WS2008 you have installed. ๐Ÿ˜€

Are you installing x86 or x64?

From what I have read it looks like all 64 bit system are not seeing this correctly. I looked at ASRock’s website and did not even find a driver for that. Best thing is to try the latest drivers from Intel. If that does not work then contact tech support and make sure to ask about Vista drivers. I have contacted a few companies and they all give me the run around when I tell them Windows Server 2008.

You should try to google for the drivers first – the one’s for vista work for server too. And in vista you need to install them manually too…

In the Asus AIBooster download package is everything you need. But this device might be absolutely uninteresting for you, as it only gives control for third party programs like AIBooster to regulate your cpu-fan speed.

                        Cheers,

                        Don

You need the drivers for the 975X chipset. Below is the link.. I have the same controller as my primary controller and these drivers work good for 32bit. I am using the 64bit now and they work also. Download the bottom driver for the Matrix controller. I would also get the inf update utility and install that.

It is used for Windows MCE only. It can by disabled at BIOS. And named Intelยฎ Quick Resume Technology. I donยดt think that Quick Resume is supported by any other OS than Windows XP MCE Edition, Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate. Other Opreating Systems not using it. Just disable it – if you not using dualboot system.

That device that you are missing is the Infrared port.

On my lenovo X60 it is called “IBM IrDA Fast Infrared port”

I found this old windows 98 driver but it doesnt complete the install because it says “The required line was not found in the INF”

the driver is the lenovo 7xcx23ww.exe

I’ve been looking for the vista equivalent but have not been able to find it.

                                  Hello everyone,

Unfortunately most of the links suggested here do not work anymore.

Anyway installing the Intel Matrix Storage drivers for Vista x64 cause the installer stop as the OS is not recognized.

I have a similar situation where ICH7 is not being fully installed: there is an Unknown Device recognized as 82801GB/GR.

                                  Please see the attached screenshot:

According CPU-Z the mobo has an Intel i955X chipset
                                  With Southbridge 82801GB (ICH7/R).

                                  Any idea, please?

Note: this is for R2 but the issues should be similar.
