        Hi !

        “Wow !
I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since we released the Windows 8.1 Update.
Over the last few weeks, people with Automatic Update turned on in Windows Update have been receiving the Windows 8.1 update on their devices.
It’s been great seeing and hearing from people enjoying all the new improvements.

While we believe the majority of people have received the update, we recognize that not all have.
Having our customers running their devices with the latest updates is super important to us.
And we’re committed to helping ensure their safety.
As a result, we’ve decided to extend the requirement for our consumer customers to update their devices to the Windows 8.1 Update in order to receive security updates another 30 days to June 10th.
As noted previously, consumer customers who do not update their Windows 8.1 devices to the Windows 8.1 Update by this new deadline will no longer receive updates.
We’re confident that within the next month, the majority of the remaining customers who haven’t updated their devices to the Windows 8.1 Update will be able to do so. “

Since the same update was mentioned also for WS2012-R2:
“All future security and nonsecurity updates for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 require this update to be installed.” http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2919355 I believe we can assume an additional month also on WS2012-R2….

I´m going to update this thread as soon as I get confirmation.

“With today’s release of a solution that resolves the connectivity issues with WSUS 3.2 described here,
we have now published the Windows 8.1 Update
(as well as the Windows Server 2012 R2 Update and Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Update)
to Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

For organizations using WSUS, Windows Intune, or System Center Configuration Manager for updating their Windows 8.1 computers,
this means that you can now easily deploy these updates to the computers or servers you manage.
For computers and servers that have already installed these updates, note that Windows Update will re-offer them but it will only install the portion of the update that addresses the fix.
Other portions of the update which users have already downloaded and installed will not be downloaded or installed a second time.
For more information, please read KB2959977 and the WSUS team blog for full details.”

So if you have had problems installing this update, you have a lot of time left, if you do not use Windows Update.
