Hi all,
I had trouble getting my two favourite image editing programs running on server 08 as a workstation until I adjusted the default settings in DEP – Data Execution Prevention. DEP can be found by right clicking My Computer – Properties – Advanced system settings – Advanced – Performance Settings – Data Execution Prevention.
Select the top radio button – Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only.
After editing the DEP settings, these applications now work faultlessly. – Nikon View and Nikon Capture.
Plus don’t forget about Application Compatablity (emulating the application as running in Windows XP etc)
Right mouse click the application – Properties – Compatability (tab) – Check the box ‘Run this program in compatability mode for’ – select the OS of your choice.
