Sidebar: gadgets with flyouts don’t work

I have a problem with reinstated sidebar: the “flyouts” are blocked.

Examples are
– wp-corp mail checker
Wp-Corporation
– WeatherMan:
WeatherMAN
– Agenda / Calendar
Windows Live Gallery

It works in Vista and with the “original” Sidebar in W7. I see the same behavior in Server 2008. What causes this behavior and how can I possibly fix it?
