Hello everyone,
Let me start by laying out my hardware:
Intel S5520SC Motherboard
Intel E5649 Xeon (12M Cache, 2.53 GHz, 5.86 GT/s)
24 GB of RAM
Western Digital 1TB Black drive
Radeon R5 220 Video card (Installed only drivers, no fluff)Workstation is on a domain. IPv6 is disabled. NIC has a hard coded address.
I’ve had Win 7 Ultimate and Win 8.1 on this hardware, Win 7 performed ok, Win 8.1 performed ok, but way too much what I call fluff in both. Installed Server 2012 R2 Update 3 today in workstation mode. All I can say is wow. Everything runs great. I am NOT a gamer, I use the station for business use. I have full Acrobat X installed, Office 2010 Pro Plus, Visio 2010 Premium and Project 2010 Pro installed. All work absolutely great. I should have done this sooner.Ray
