Issue: When you launch the File Explorer shortcut on your Windows Server 2012 desktop it defaults to Libraries instead of Computer. However, when you type WIN+E to open up explorer, it opens up in Computer.
Solution: Create a shortcut to the CLSID of the Computer folder and open it with explorer.exe.
Step 1: Remove the existing File Explorer shortcut on your taskbar.
Step 2: Right-click on desktop and choose New > Shortcut
Step 3: For the path, input the following address below:
C:Windowsexplorer.exe “::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}”
Step 4: Save the shortcut as Computer or a similar name.
Step 5: Drag the icon to the taskbar below.
Now everytime you launch File Explorer it won’t open up Libraries, but rather My Computer which is how it is supposed to be 🙂
