How to install Comodo Firewall v6 / v7
This works on WS2008-R2, and probably also on WS2012, although not tested (yet).
Open cfw-installer.exe with fx. 7-zip
Go to “cisdownloadinstallsxml_binariescis”
Extract cis_setup_x64.msiStart Orca
Open cis_setup_x64.msiIn the left menu under “Tables“, select: “LaunchCondition”
In the main menu under “Condition” select the third line: “Installed OR MsiNTProductType = “1” OR AV_FOR_SERVERS = “1”
Right-click and select “Drop Row”
Save the edited file
Close OrcaRun cis_setup_x64.msi
It installs without complaining about Server-O/S….
Note: This will install “the whole package”, Comodo Antivirus & Firewall,
without giving you any options about what to install, and where.
If you fx. dont´want Comodo Antivirus you will have to change the settings after installation…So if you (like me…) want to install on another disk and folder than the standard “C:program files…”,
you need a registry-hack:
Start Regedit as ADMIN
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionChange the path for:
“ProgramFilesDir”Note: You can keep regeditor open (running) while you install Comodo
Install Comodo
Reset the registry-setting above (to the original)
Close regeditor
