OK, this is the only part so far that I’ve been having problems on. The Games Explorer installs just fine on Server 2008 R2, but the individual programs themselves do not run. I am not sure what exactly I am doing wrong, as I followed the guides a couple of times.

For the interim, the only way I’m able to run FreeCell, Solitaire, etc. on my R2 machine is by way of running a version of Windows 7 in VMware and running the games via Unity.

Edit: Read the Win7Games thread again, this is a known issue if 32-bit games are being used. It appears I will need to build and fire up a Windows 7 x64 machine and recover the necessary games from it.

Update: I found an old x64 RC1 copy, the games from there (FreeCell, Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Purble Place) work.
