Oh yes!
But what I really need is Windows Virtual PC for the Workstation … 😉
No feedback????? 🙁
AsciiWolf, could you please create an installer? You would make an old man happy … 😉
Is there any progress about creating an installer package for Windows Virtual PC on 2008 R2?
I ask this because there is ONE 2008 R2 edition which doesn’t contain Hyper-V with it, can use 1 physical CPU, max. 8 GB RAM and is not more expensive then a Seven Home Premium (on eBay you can find it for round about 200 Euro incl. VAT)
I talk about Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation! IMHO this could be the best edition for a pre-modded image and also for using Windows Virtual PC on it.
@ExpertUser: If you have some interest about Foundation, PM me and I give you a link for an english ISO.7th October 2010 at 23:19 in reply to: WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 SP1 WORKSTATION – JUNE 2011 EDITION #50645My opinion is to give the basics and then let the user decide to install things and not to remove apps. For me it will be then the same crapware like all the OEM discs and the damn scene releases of Seven.
“Windows Server 2008 R2 Workstation” should be the foundation like a normal clean Seven DVD and not the trash like some OEM’s install on PC’s and notebooks. Because “I” want to decide installing and using a third-party application and not to be forced uninstalling them first to have a clean and personalized system! That’s my opinion!

If you go this way, the basic philosophy of your releases are … away. And for me it is a paternalism about the applications on my system and has nothing to do with a workstation release by itself.

BTW: Is it your intention that it isn’t possible to choose the install language at installation? There is only “English” available … And I also know that the correct language is available after the installations … But … 😉
PS: Greetings to the principality! 😀

BTW: It would be very nice to get back MUI’s in the DVD. I by myself know how to make this but I think there are some other people out there …
English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Arabian and Chinese would be a good selection (and perhaps some more until the limit for DVD size is reached)

Most important is to get your new release … 😀
I’m sure there is a copy protection module which runs as driver or kernel module. And it will only be available as 32 bit …
