First: A very very good application.
Now a little feature request: Edition branding modification (i.E. a Foundation says optically that it is an Enterprise), perhaps also an own “Workstation” branding …Would be very nice …

But you also have to write that Virtual PC is only a good solution on Server versions with no Hyper-V (Foundation, Web, WHS) …

It would be much easier to get a solution if we know how the WUSA service gets the information what OS it is. If it is only one or two registry entries then they could be modified for the installation of Virtual PC …

If the extras are only from Microsoft, it would be very cool … 😉
Basically all programs that are running on a Windows Seven x64 can run also under 2008 R2.
Exceptions are the most AV products for desktops, also Backup & Recovery applications (like Acronis True Image Home), firewalls, data management applications like O&O Defrag Professional. These programs can only be installed with their server versions …
BTW: The application gets an instant crash if it has a path with spaces. It would be nice if it will be corrected … 😉
@sythrar: I’m sure, this is also your problem.I’ve only one big big wish: Windows Virtual PC on “Foundation”. Via MSU “camouflage” (so it think it will be installed on Seven) or like all your other workarounds: Copy, Paste and running .reg files … 😉
