Hey Arris. I’m finishing off a college course so I’ve been a bit flooded since christmas, and will continue to be ’til late May I’d say. I felt I should at least post that here if anyone else with more WordPress experience wants to take it on, but I may have another go myself in May if noone else has finished it then. Though what about a rebrand maybe with the retheme – windowsserverworkstation.com or some such maybe for a lasting site name. Anyway, never mind.
As for the full-width design, that’s something I noticed with the images (they’re all too wide) and I had planned on asking you if you could limit the picture size (maybe put your cool javascript zoomy library on every page). If you’d rather a full-width site, you’ll need to ditch the aero theme – Zero can do this because it has a background colour, not a background image – background images can be stretched, but only in the most modern browsers which would exclude all IE users (sorry but IE8 is still nothing close to being a modern browser). Either way, I know that particular Aero pic of shahed’s is not settled on, so I could definitely do up an alternative full-width “aero-ish” theme…

Hey, I’m one of those people that was supposed to be working on a design. I’d never attempted a wordpress theme before (I’m accustomed to writing websites from scratch and tbph I despise CMS’s like wp with every fibre of my being), so I just spent a few minutes making up a quick CSS design with some graphics shahed had done, before diving into wp theme templates, which I sent to Arris.
At the time (this is about 6 months ago now) he politely replied saying “no need to hurry, job/school/family are main priority”. I unfortunately took his advice a little too literally, and have not really progressed at all since. Anyway, I’m snowed in with work at the moment, but I’ll try and dig out what I had done and post it here if anyone wants to pick up from where I left off.
Hey.. I’ve been a lurker here for quite a while (first post), the main reason being I can’t seem to get the site working properly; I’m using Opera and I get the default phpbb skin, with no “register” or “login” links. No “search” link either which is frustrating.
I thought this would be the most appropriate place to post, as the thread’s related to the website (not Server08), and was started by Arris (please flame me if it’s inappropriate). Anyone else using Opera and experiencing this? As I said I’ve been browsing this site for a while and it’s not a new problem.
Secondly, on a more on-topic note, I don’t have any specific experience using WordPress, but I know a lot of php, and more importantly I’ve a lot of experience with css – I think wordpress themes are mostly css, only a cursory simple php template per page type in most of them I think. I know this topic’s fairly old at this stage, but I see no new theme so.. is it in the works or are you still looking for contributions?
