PDF docs are opening up in Acrobat appl in a separate window rather than in the browser like I need them to. Using a web based content management application that has the option to open specific extensions within its browser or outside (like useing Acrobat) and its being overriden. Just moved everything to 64 bit server 2008. With the old 32 bit server 2003 it would open within the browser and now it will not. Anyone have any experience with this and have any suggestions please? Thank you.

        Hello Ozz,

This might happen because you are using the 64bit Internet Explorer browser in which many (32bit) plugins such as Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player aren’t supported. In the x64 Editions of Windows, the Internet Explorer browser and several other native Windows applications are available in 32bit (C:Program Files (x86)) and 64bit (C:Program Files). Try if using the 32bit Internet Explorer which is located in C:Program Files (x86)Internet Exploreriexplore.exe works. It is also be available via the Start menu.

        Hope this solves your problem!
