Thanks man, that sorted it 🙂
That didn’t work for me,
When i download and run the file the website tells you to, it still tells you that it won’t run on server os or 64 bit machines 🙁
Thanks Arris, that worked! 🙂
It is ticked, it still appears 🙂
Do you think i would post here if it was that simple? 😀
I don’t have that registry value, I guess i can just add it?
it happened when i did a clean install of server 32 bit about 6 months ago, I never got rid of the problem.
I was hoping this clean install of x64 would solve it but it hasn’t 🙁
So far no one has replied to my post 🙁
I do have the latest ati drivers – i don’t know what the problem could be 🙁
Clamwin works fine on x64.
Thanks for the link, I didn’t notice there was a version for server! 🙂
I remember seeing that tip a while ago, you shouldn’t use it. Not only does your OS use the entire processor already on startup, but changing the value in that setting can make your system unstable.
Thanks Arris 🙂
I had already thought of checking that – still there was no error message displayed.
However, after some rooting around the Avira forums, i found that it is a fairly common problem with Vista SP1 Os’s. So problem solved now, I think 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion though 🙂
I did use run yes. I then tried it in a command prompt and it worked fine.

28th May 2008 at 15:17 in reply to: How to install Antivir PE (and maybe other non-Server Apps) #46333I tried this with the Antivir PE and it didn’t work. I changed the keys you listed, restarted, tried to install, still gave me the “does not run on server OS” message. I double checked I changed everything and tried again, no go.
Also tried it with several other security apps (onecare, AVG) and it didn’t work there either. Are you sure you listed all of the changes that you need to make?
Thanks 🙂
the “blacking” out you described also happens on my system, its a result of using custom visual styles, I have found. Nothing to do with nvidia as im running an ATI X1650 Pro. It’s worth looking on the Nvidia forums however because they do have poor vista drivers, and there are some forceware drivers around that do the job much better.
