Could you be so kind 🙂

Sorry for taking so long response to you. Definitely, I’ll get to it once I download it, I’ll have it up later tonight or early tomorrow.

This is not working for me… I’m running Server08 R2. Just bought a Radeon5450 to try dual monitor support. I have been working on this all morning. Found this (and previous version) fixes and tried to install. The CCC constantly errors “Host Application has stopped working”.

It is the same exact error I got with the original installation, this 11.8 install, a custom 11.8 removing all but the necessary components, and the 11.7 previous mod’ed install.

I can install the driver for the Card w/o any issue. But I can not make Windows Display accept the card or allow me to use dual monitors (which is the intent)

Try the beta OpenGL 4.2 Driver set, it has Hydravison for your dual monitor.

The Drivers and CCC are Server Ready. The features are not, that’s why they don’t install, unless the .msi files are modified for Server.

    Did you enable guest account?

    By default guest is disabled.

I noticed that too, was opening the msi to Edit and thinking I was going mad! Still changed those items that didn’t state 2008 for the full install.

I’m still not getting full hardware acceleration though which is killing my cunning plan to combine my WHS 2011 server build as a Blu-Ray player (small chenbro case, whisper quiet and power sipping AMD Fusion board). My AMD Brazos E350 is capable of full Blu-Ray playback but only if the GPU acceleration/UVD is fully utilised.

Any ideas? Using the AMD System monitor the GPU does appar to get some use but the CPU is at 80% and thus I get stuttering. Could be an Arcsoft Issue but I can’t even get Cyberlink to launch on 2008R2 so can’t test that.

    Cheers, Alex

At the moment I using Media Player Classic & SPlayer they both seem to be using DXVA. I haven’t used Arcsoft or Cyberlink, so I wouldn’t really know. I just notice it too for some reason when playing any DXVA files it doesn’t the GPU load is @ 0% using GPU-z monitoring, but it when I check the codec status it say it using the GPU and my CPU usage is at constant at 4-8% load when playing 1080p video. I think AMD might messed up on the GPU monitoring.

    hi!

let me ask… i installed your version of catalyst, ok, but there are 2 issues:

1 – is the driver version older than the other from amd without rc? this one is 8.840.9, the other one i had was 8.841.0

2 – for me, the main app is the catalyst, to control vga fan and clock. is there some way to get them installed? i think the error at the end of setup is from that app.

    1. This is the 11.4c hotfix. Recently a leaked released 8.85 betas.

    2. Which card are you using and your system spec? It could a bug since this is RC release, it hard to say.

😮 what have we done. It good to way let the advance user to get a feel of the new OS, even if it’s an unsupported OS. It’s pretty much use at your own risk. I highly doubt anyone has a Premium or will buy a Premium for this, since there just too much risk involve install this OS as regular OS. It more for testing in a VM environment anyways. Look at the bright side we aren’t the only ones on the web that had done this. 😆

I would like apologize to anyone that found this offensive. The admins can feel free to delete this post if they want.

No problem, just trying to help.

As Fear said all complete Catalyst driver comes with the AVIVO Transcoding Tool.

Nice work Fear, this will make it a lot easier people to patch the latest Catalyst Driver. I’ll give it a shot for the next driver release. Hopefully you can iron out the bugs. Till then.
