I’m aware of the age of this thread but seems like a lot of people are still asking the questions concerning how to get a particular antivirus to work with a certain OS. What I’ve found contradicts the matrix for these 2 OS’s:

Avira Antivirus Downloaded from CNET:

CNET shows the version as v 14.0.7.342. When looking at the properties/details tab of Setup.exe after expanding the download file, it shows version v 14.0.7.310

Works with the following OS:

Windows 2008 R2
Windows 2012 R2

when using the MS Verifier (x64) method and 7zip to expand the download file.
