    Ok thats very strange!
I will throw a VM up and go from there, and do all the normal things i do to it and see if i can find the point at which it fails.

I really want my custom themes, none of the available uxtheme patchers work.

R2ConvGUI.R2Conv+R2ConvException: Failed Dependency check! -> this means that either you have not Desktop Experience installed and/or Theme Service is not started.

    N 🙂

Well that makes no sense at all, as both the desktop experience is installed (windows defender is in control panel) and theme service is started (aero is working), thats how im running aero in the first place, and thats why i want to use the converter to get custom themes.

I tried it on a different machine and the same thing happened, so im thinking it maybe something _I_ do differently.
For example, i have a hacked set of shell32.dll, imageres.dll, and shellstyle.dll that i insert into my installations, to do things like remove the “folderband” and remove the “UAC” icon beside any admin level functions.
Its very annoying as a professional user to have this little shield next to every admin level command/program, so i hacked it out.

Would the converter have a reliance on one of those dll files?

You wouldnt have any ideas about an NSC IR driver? I have one in my laptop and cant find a driver for it.

Hell, im never going to USE it, but having that last “unknown device” in device manager bugs me.

in reply to: Bad Windows-GUI and Game Performance #52156

Change your power profile to max performance.

Open up taskman, and enable kernel usage (red line)

Do some GUI stuff, and see if its kernel mode or user mode cpu thats being used the most.

If your cpu graph stays flat or close to it, while the gui is still really delayed, that points to a graphics card issue.

Do you have aero turned on? Is the actual driver installed properly for the video card? Check your device manager.

    I want that theme!!!

    Thanks, this is awesome.
Now just gotta work out how to remove the Search box in each explorer window.

I imported these settings, didnt seem to change much really.
Then again, i have a quad core machine, with each core at 4 gig, with 8gig of ram, so that MAY make a difference.

Yup that works a treat, on both 32bit and 64 bit versions of all server oses.

    AWESOME.

in reply to: Just Cause 2 #50767

    I just fixed it.

Used the Server to Workstation converter 1.2 and ran the install gameux.dll for better game compatibility.

Though i wouldnt waste your time, it doesnt seem to work properly for me, its reporting cpu speeds of 20gig!
    (i have a phenom II at 4.01gig)

in reply to: Workstation Converter 1.2 for R2? #50329

If you dont use the converter, and enable the desktop experience using the guide, you can use windows updates and do everything else normally.

I havent patched my theme file though.

in reply to: AMD Overdrive v3.1 #50533

It can be installed, i just did it.

You need to modify the MSI file internally.
    Do you want a copy?

AS of the latest version of of itunes, there is some issues with “not being able to sync” or sync errors.

So far, running the setup as admin and windows vista in compatability tab seems to be ok, will do further testing.
