nice one!
Without powered by it’s better in my opinion
Welcome
finally someone from Germany xD I’m also a citizen of this beautiful country 😉
Which magazine told you about this page here?
This site is great, the admin does a good job and server 2008 is indeed a OS you have to try out
tried to disable DEP?
ah no at the moment i just haven’t a up-to-date hardware which i need to make any kind of studies (at least in my eyes…it just makes more fun with quad core than with normal amd 64 ^^)
right now i have to learn for school xD especially geography. yeah i like that too, besides computer stuff
but i’m planing to buy a new hardware around christmas and i can finally do some tests again. maybe i finally buy a mac, that would we very nice 😉
and till windows 7 is released i’m definitely back to the game…i still wonder how much ressources this OS will need and i just wanna have fun picking this system into pieces and complain about Microsoft 🙄
hello,
i actually cannot believe these results, but let’s wait what the admin will say.
all i can say that i tested vista 32bit and server 2008 and the benchmarks show that server even with aero features enabled was about 15 percent faster. And other tests showed this result too
personally i don’t know why you choose the 64bit 2008 with 2GB RAM. i use 64bit only with 4GB or higher, otherwise i doesnt make real sense to me. but thats your stuff
p.s.: some new tweaks by the admin for server 2008: http://www.win2008workstation.com/wordpress/2008/08/26/fine-tuning-services/

I think I’ve been using Windows Server 2003 for two years and before that I just used Windows XP. Since the time we got our first computer (~1995/Windows 95) I was figuring out all possible features and fixed it when I broke something. Currently I use Virtual Machines more often to try these things. 😉
even though this might be spam:
Respect! 😀

Products I don’t like because they are way too sluggish are Norton Antivirus/Internet Security 200* and McAfee Antivirus/Firewall software.
i totally agree
i remembered also when i used bitdefender. gotta say, that this was no bad program, really not. But i had often problems with my keys and the software in general
Does anyone have experiences with AVG and Avast? Even though the don’t perform on WS2008 i heard they are pretty nice
yeah i saw you are just 20, not much than i am xD okay a bit, but not much indeed ^^
may i ask you for how long you do this, you know, trying out operating systems and stuff?

Are you sure you had the correct drivers installed for your GFX card… Server 2008 seems to be an amazing lot slower then XP in your benchmark 😮
server 2008 is indeed slower as XP
