My apologies for the necropost. I didn’t look at the date of the last post. I did however look thru the other 2 pages of this thread (it came up on google in a search) and couldn’t find the info that I added about using a win7 dvd in order to get a cardgames.dll and the method in which to do it…

unless you have something that adds to the conversation

As i already said: Windows 7 Games was fixed years ago.
So you are not adding anything new….

Also, there is no need to quote my whole post above.
I know what i wrote, and everyone else can also read that post…. šŸ˜‰

        Here’s what I did.

Got all the files from here put them in needed spots (sys32 and syswow) and regsvr32’d them.
Put slc in game folder (thanks)
        Didn’t have a win7 installation for cardgames.dll but did have a win7 dvd so I did some hunting…

Why do you post this “old” info here, in a thread with the subject “Wish List Progress” ???
The previous post is from 27 Jul 2011 08:43….

You can use the converter instead…
          I assume you already have WS2008-R2 ?

And, for your information: i donĀ“t even have the actual ISO-file.
That software was compiled by another member, long before i became administrator.
So before i can upload it anywere i have to download it first…..

              OK.
I suspected that you meant those links, but i wanted to be sure i knew what you were talking about.

The mediafire-link seems to be “dead”, i canĀ“t see any files there.
So i assume you are talking about The Pirate Bay then ?

Anyway, since “our” software is available on multiple webbsites i have planned to instead upload all software to one webbsite.
Having eveything in one place would make it easier for everyone.
But i have not had time to do it yet.
Check back in a couple of weeks, it might soon be fixed….

The latest pre-modded version of WS2008R2 with whatever service pack available.

I understood that you meant that.
But where in the forum did you find the link to the ISO ?

                    Hi !

                    Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for the information, but itĀ“s actually already wellknown that Avira works on WS….
The trick with the ā€œProductOptions”-folder is all thatĀ“s needed.
                    http://www.win2008r2workstation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=965&p=4802#p4802

However, after having seen your post I looked at the list of security-software:
“Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Cannot be installed on a Server OS”, see “Forum-topic”
                    http://www.win2008r2workstation.com/security-software/

It seems that the information regarding Avira hasnĀ“t been updated in a long time.
Anyway, that was long before i became Admin here… šŸ˜‰
IĀ“m adding updating that info to my todo-list.

Regarding the trick with the ā€œProductOptions”-folder, there is a safer way to do it,
take a look at my post “How to install programs with “server-allergy”:

I donĀ“t know where you can find WS2008-R2, I get my software from Dreamspark.

                        Hi !

                        Macrium Reflect 4.2 FREE works on WS2008 / WS2008-R2 / WS2012.
                        With the “usual” Appverifier-trick: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=2463
Not tested it on WS2012-R2 yet, but i assume it will work.
I have tried newer versions but iĀ“ve had problems getting them to work (“server-allergy”…),
so i have not updated it.
But since 4.2 works i donĀ“t have any real reason to do it.

                          From 2009?
                          Is that correct?

Because I also can’t get the superfetch service to start correctly.
I get an error (Error 24) saying that the program issued a command but the command length is incorrect.

Edit: No, these files are most likely from Windows 7, so I replaced them with the ones from Windows 8.1.
Unfortunately it still doesn’t work, now I get a different error message saying that the operating system is not configured to run this application…

This thread is about the server converter for WS2008-R2.
Since you mentioned “the ones for Server 2012 R2” and “Windows 8.1” i assume you are looking to convert WS2012-R2 ?

                            I donĀ“t know.
I only asked because if you meant the new version, then i should move your post to the other thread….

A small issue though, if your server is on drive other than C:/ (e.g. D:/, E:/ etc), in this case the right-click option to show/hide folders/extensions does not work because it can’t find the .vbs script in C:/…/system32.

Do you mean “MICROSOFT SERVER CONVERTER 2012” or the new version for R2 ?

                                Best ?
                                Well, that can be discussed….

You need to first save your password before you can “recover”.
Windows Password Recovery needs a reset disk:
“If you forget your Windows password, you can use a password reset disk to create a new one. We recommend that you create a password reset disk when you create your password, so you don’t lose access to your files and information.”

                                  Thanks for the info.
                                  But, itĀ“s a bit confusing….

There is no “deny rights” on your own user account in the original post.
It says “deny read rights” for ADMIN.

Could you please explain #3 ?
Where should “NT SERVICEavast! Antivirus” be added ?
