TY for the info.
1st post updated.

We also managed to definitely solve the issue with NetFx3 feature that required DVD or Internet access.
We fixed a script to detect DVD/USB and get files from SxS folder.

I am currently preparing MSC2012R2.
I have created a file grabber to ease dll acquiring task.
I am currently adding 35 LP to a W 8.1 Enterprise x64 Edition, that will take some time……
I will have a working test copy by the weekend.
I hope M$ does not issue a Server OS every year…….
I’ll create a new topic for new version.

Just found this very impressive application and I hope you keep working on this as this worked wonders for me on my work build machine as when I upgraded to 2012 for the New Hyper V version and test labs the metro UI among other things just irked me like no other… At home I am sticking with Windows 7 and my VMWARE box for my tests but where I work I have to use it given my job leaves me testing everything ready or not IMO.
But thanks again for making this awesome utility!
😉 😛
We will port it to work on 2012 R2 also or make a new one for R2. We have not decided yet.
It all depends on the dll’s……… and the dll.mui’s….. 😆 😆

Hello,
I have windows 2008 R2 x64. It was hard at first to copy whole MS Codecs but I succeeded by comparing using “GraphEdit”, but this Microsoft Encoder is still not allowing me to register though I tried many tricks and still not succeeding.
With Administrative privileges at command prompt:
Regsvr32 msmpeg2enc.dllFiles:
msmpeg2enc.dll.mui (system32/en-US)
msmpeg2enc.dll.mui (syswow64/en-US)
msmpeg2enc.dll (system32)
msmpeg2enc.dll (syswow64)
Exported all Registry Settinngs related to MPEG-2 Encoder from win7 and then import @Win2008R2 .After I import .reg files , then MS MPEG-2 Encoder appears at “GraphEdit” @Win2008R2 but still registering msmspeg2enc.dll is saying that this file was loaded but failed to call RegDLLServer also the system is not using the dll file.
Can you please help me because I tried to download the file that you attached in this thread but this archive is corrupted.
Can you please attach it again because this file “mpeg2enc.7z” is corrupted.
Regards,
GhassanHi,
There is no need to run Regsvr32 msmpeg2enc.dll
Just copy files as you did and apply attached registry file.
That’s it.
By the way here is original install.cmd from Ascii
@echo off
cls
color 1f
echo http://www.win2008r2workstation.com/ presents:
echo ===============================================================
echo Microsoft MPEG-2 Encoder installer for Windows Server 2008 R2
echo By AsciiWolf – http://asciiwolf.com/
echo ===============================================================
echo.
echo [+] Press any key to start the installation…
pause>nul
echo [+] Installing Microsoft MPEG-2 Encoder…
xcopy /E /I /Y “filesx64” “%SystemRoot%System32″>nul
xcopy /E /I /Y “filesx86” “%SystemRoot%SysWOW64″>nul
echo [+] Registering Microsoft MPEG-2 Encoder…
reg import filesmpeg2enc.reg>nul 2>nul
if %errorlevel% NEQ 0 goto error
echo [+] Microsoft MPEG-2 Encoder installed successfully!
goto end:error
echo [-] Installation failed! Are you running the installation as Administrator?:end
echo [+] Press any key to exit the installer…

colorThere is no Regsvr32 msmpeg2enc.dll command line in there.

The key is:
Cannot create C:WindowsSystem32msscntrs.dll
because the windows search services is started in my pc.
I installed english edition, but can display Chinese.
thanks.There is no such file in Superfetch pack.
Remove Windows Search Role/Feature (it’s not necessary to have it enabled. regular search works still) reboot and try to install Superfetch pack again.
If NO GO then I cannot help you futher. Sorry.

Thank you, but the Superfetch service is not running. 🙁
Now if you want to fix this problem you need to give me more detailed answers. Yes, no or it does not work with smileys is not enough !
I wish to understand one thing : how did you run the tool ? On built in Administrator account or on a regular user account that belongs to Administrators Group ?
The reason why I ask you is that it’s odd that access was denied to copy a file in System32en-US with admin rights ? I tested over and over and the only time access is denied to copy files is when they are already there and in use !
That brings me to another question ? Is this a clean install or an upgrade or whatever ?
Did you try to “fiddle” around on your own to get Superfetch working ?
Now do not misunderstand me but this is 1st time that we encounter issues with this pack as it belongs to the one that took a lot of time to develop and since we tested it over and over so many times it’s close to perfection.
So here is what needs to be done to fix it (no 100% guarantee that it will work on your configuration but it does work on my R2 in a VM) :
1/ Stop Superfetch service in Services
2/ Remove following files in :
a/ WindowsInf -> RdyBoost folder
b/ WindowsPrefetch -> ReadyBoot folder
c/ WindowsSystem32drivers -> rdyboost.sys
d/ WindowsSystem32en-US -> sysmain.dll.mui
e/ WindowsSystem32 -> sysmain.dll and systemsf.ebd
3/ Once all this done, run again MSCR2 -> Superfetch Pack with administrator rights and if you get an error again then there is something else wrong.
Through Step 1 to 3 you do not reboot. You reboot only once pack installed.
One last thing, what language is your R2 ? English ?

Yes, all are there. than? how could I verify? thank.
Check in Services and if you see a Superfetch service running then it’s working.

Hi XanSama,
Thank you very much for this very interesting and constructive share.
You have made progress indeed and I am sure we will be able to fix the issues you are experiencing.
I’ll take a look at your zip files and see to get a MUI working for MSC2012 and then we can see from there on.
I’ll keep you updated.
Once again TY.
