Warcraft 2 Battle.net Edition

Has anyone been able to get this to work under R2.

I’ve messed with the compatibility options and when I run it under 95 or 98, it asks for the CD (ISO mounted as a virtual disc or the actual disc in the drive), but if I run it under XP or higher, it crashes immediately.

It works perfectly fine on our desktop computer running Win 7 x64.

I tried it on Server 2008 not R2 and initially it wouldn’t run like you said. For me it was data execution prevention (DEP).

1. Click on Start and choose Run…

2. Type in “systempropertiesadvanced” without quotes and hit enter.

3. Under Performance, click Settings…

4. Click on the Data Execution Prevention tab

5. Change the radio button to “Turn on DEP for all program and services except those I select:”

6. Click Add…

7. Navigate to C:Program Files (x86)Warcraft II BNE

8. Click on Warcraft II BNE application (.exe) file.

9. Click apply then ok.

Try to launch the game and see it works. Hopefully this fixes the issue for you my friend.
