Video editing and movie making software

I am looking for a recommendation of a video editing and movie making package that will run on Windows 2008 64-bit. I would like to import MPEG2 video files. Thanks.

Pinnacle Studio Plus 12.1 seems to be usable. I have seen a crash in the DVD burning settings page but I am able to author a movie that I can burn to a DVD and is usable. Using the K-LITE 64-bit AND 32-bit codec package on Windows 2008 X64 I am able to get Pinnacle to read MPEG-2 files and working with these clips is without incident.

I use Corel Video Studio X2. Is ok and useable… Everything I need is possible.

Perhaps you can test both as trials and find your favourite..
