Anyone had any luck installing this driver? It won’t install for me, even with compatibility mode, The touchpad works, It’s just that acceleration is very slow and I miss the two finger scroll, three finger tap etc.
I tried the latest Driver from synaptic’s site, as well as a generic Windows 8 driver from lenovo (my laptop is HP, but oh well). Anyone have any advice or tips?
Thanks - 5th December 2014 at 11:32 #61130Anonymous
Hi !
Exactly which file do you mean ?
Terms like “this driver?” & “the latest Driver” doesn´t help.
When refering to software always post both the filename and a link to the software.
This is (of course) important especially when you are requesting help… 😉I did a search, and found this: Windows 8/7/XP/Vista 64/32-bit Edition v17.0.19
http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_v17_0_19_C_XP32_Vista32_Win7-32_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Acme_Inc.zipDo you mean that driver ?

Thanks for your reply, I should have been more clear, the driver from the synaptics site is that link http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_v17_0_19_C_XP32_Vista32_Win7-32_XP64_Vista64_Win7-64_Acme_Inc.zip and a windows 8 synaptics driver from http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds031974. My laptop is an HP 17e 189NR
And I was able to get it to work, on a whim, I plugged in a usb mouse, restarted, and tried the installation again, it installed fine. Not sure what was wrong, or why plugging a second mouse in helped, but I’m all good now, Thanks!
