        It is possible to hybernate or standby a win 2008 machine?

        I asked this because of the extremely much time that the machine takes to boot up.

          Absolutely. My machine is on a UPS so I use the Sleep option when I shut mine down. When I start up again, I’m at the desktop and ready to go in under 5 seconds, which is much faster than the almost 2 minutes to boot from a cold start.

          I even set my Power properties to use the Sleep button on my keyboard so a simple button press is all that’s required to shut it down for the night.
