Windows Server 2008 boots up fine, but it takes for ever to shutdown. Maybe something I installed? Does anyone else have a problem shutting down?
I have not experienced this on Server 2008 yet, however my Server 2003 Active Directory server does. It turned out to be improperly configured DNS.
If I’m ever in a hurry I normally just do a hard shutdown. I have my laptop setup to keep running as usual when I shut the lid. So if I’m not in a hury and I’m just leaving class I’ll tell it to shut down, close the lid, and the fan is normally stopped by the time I’m ready to slide it into my backpack.
Thing is, it usually works fine, it’s just sometimes it takes forever. Also, if I select reboot instead of shutdown, it goes quickly…
