recommendation – Webroot AntiVirus with AntiSpyware

Although I own both Kaspersky and Norton AntiVirus 2009 I wanted to find a security app that works on Server 2008 without modification. Despite it not being mentioned here I decide to give Webroot AntiVirus with AntiSpyware a try. Their new version 6.0 installed without a hitch and is working great with no noticeable system slowdown with all the autoprotect features enabled. A feature I really like is they have included a “gamer mode” that you can enable simply by clicking the system tray icon. This disables serveral of the protection features that could interfere with or slow down your games. Another cool thing is if you install the free version of this software you can use all of the scan features for an unlimited amount of time, you only have to pay the subscription fee if you need to remove a virus it finds. I have kept a clean system for years so this works well for me. I am running this on the 64 bit version of server btw. I’ll update this thread as I use it more. Here is a nice review from pc mag.
