Anyone manage to get ProTools 7.4 to work on Windows 2008?
The install starts, but halfway thru it pukes while trying to register something.
The installer continues on, installs the drivers ok and says it completed successfully..
When I try to launch, I get an APPCRASH message on ProTools executable. For grins I tried doing a regsvr32 on some of the dll’s in the pro tools directory.
The ones I tried worked with the exception of DAE.DLL
That one caused the same crash I saw during the install.ProTools 7.4 is supposedly compatible with Vista.
thanks for any assistance you might offer

I also tried that applications and the install went fine: it installed the program and some drivers. After the restart I got the same crash you got, so I restarted again and tried to boot using the Disable Driver Signature Enforcement option (repeatedly pressing F8 before starting Windows Server 2008) but still the same crash.
Also tried some Compatibility Modes but that didn’t work out either.
Don’t know how to fix this, so you can wait till someone finds a solution or contact the developer to ask if they can fix it/give you a workaround…
