no event sound

i can play mp3 and other sound files but there is no event sound like min, max, restore up, etc in all applications except excel. for other system events like logon, empty recycle bin and the like is working. it’s very strange that only excel is ok, but not ms word! is it a known bug? what should i do to have the event sounds working? mine is onboard realtek HD sound and i’ve no problem with other operating systems like windows 7,etc

i’ve tried all possible solutions found here like updating to the newest driver, removing the old driver, etc but still no luck

are your features turned on? i copied w7 sounds and dropped them in c/windows/media. now i have them too. they have videos at ms web site that show how to do your sounds. good luck wmr

yes, the event sounds work in excel correctly (and in excel only!!)
