Hi
Recently installed server 2008 32-bit on my HP Pavillion dv5t laptop. Tried everything I found on various forums including registry hacks to fix the audio, but nothing could completely remove the stutter/skipping problem.
But here’s what I did – I use winamp for all my audio playback, and I just changed the output plugin from DirectSound to waveout, and voila! the sound is perfectly fine now! Maybe it IS a hardware acceleration problem, then. You skip the directsound drivers entirely and the sounds comes fine.
Do post whether this works for you.
