Lately we’ve been experiencing newly created users who take legitimate posts from other websites and post them on these forums. A couple days later they will add spam links to the post. If you come across one of these posts, please report the post by clicking the Report button in the top-right hand corner of the post. Please do not post these publicly on the forums!

Please do not click the links in the posts! If you are unsure whether or not a post has done this, copy/paste the legit contents in a search engine (such as Google) and see if a result comes up with the exact text. Please include a link to the legit post in your report. If you are unsure if a topic has or possibly will do this, report the post anyways and just tell us that you weren’t sure if the post has (or might) do the above. It doesn’t hurt to report it if you aren’t sure, we’ll take a look at your report and the post in question before we take any action. Just don’t abuse the feature! 😉

If you report a post that we think that the post might do this in the future (if it hasn’t already), we will watch the topic and/or lock the post and take further action if necessary.

For more information on reporting, please see the bottom of this post. If you are still unsure by what we mean when we say “Taking legit posts from other sites and adding spam links to it,” take a look at this post.

Any user engaging in this act will receive a permanent (IP) Ban on behalf of Arris or myself.

      Thank you,
      The Win2008[R2]Workstation.com Staff
