        When I boot the DVD, I get the “preparing files” scroll… then the windows statusbar animation, then a screen with a gray image for a background with a mouse pointer. The Screen stays there with the gray background for a minute or 2, I can move the pointer, but then all of a sudden, the computer will just re-start.

        Any ideas? I’m thinking some type of hardware problem, but I don’t know where to start. Any tips appreciated!

        Some system specs:
        Biostar I45, c2d e8400 4gig PC8500 ram, ASUS HD4850 (onboard lan and sound).

          I bought a new SATA DVD drive, everything is working now!
