        I installed my Battlefield 1942 game plus the expansion packs (Road to Rome and Secret Weapons of WWII). When I try to start the game I get a small screen that pops up for a millisecond and a single beep then its back to the desktop. I have tried adjusting the properties to Windows XP mode as well as run as administrator with no change. I have look in the Event viewer and no error is being logged. Any body have any ideas or get this game going?

          Have you followed the gameux.dll, Disabling DEP and dmusic.inf tutorials?

          I expect that the dmusic.inf is the problem, but follow them all just to be sure.

            I had only done the first one (games.dll)…..I will give the other two a shot and see if that takes care of things for me.

              I did the dmusic.inf mod today and now the game plays fine….Great tip!
