Thats a good/useful idea! I tried it but I have two questions:

• How do I set a maximum of posts to be shown? (Database / config.php setting?)
• How do I get the subforums on top of the most active posts? (By editing phpbb template?)

I think showing the subforums on top keeps everything clear, and it’s not needed to show 15-20 active posts; 5-10 is enough.

yea even 3 is ok depend if the sub-forum is more active
but i think its should be in the top

I implemented showing the subforums on top by editing the viewforum_body.html template of the VistaX style. Looks like the number of post shown is the same variable as the variable that is used for paging the topics in forums, so I didn’t change that.
