In Windows Server 2008 I have never been bothered by a User Account Control warning. However UAC is enabled by default: Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control On or Off, but I don’t know what this setting does in Server 2008. Like you said there are also some other configuration settings for UAC by running: Start -> Run -> secpol.msc -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> User Account Control: *.
Do you still have the UAC confirmation screen before starting something with a by default? If yes, on which version of Server 2008?
